Program Description: A Design Approach to Lean Improvement from Pre-Design to Construction

Studies exist to show how Lean Construction Practices have improved scheduling, work predictability, and safety in construction projects. How can we bring this into the design and even into the pre design of the same project and get results? Kimberly Ward, RN, BSN, MHA, MBB and Bernita Beikmann, AIA will discuss how Lean Process Improvement was implemented into a healthcare project from Operation Improvement in Criteria Design, through Detailed Design, Implementation Documents and into construction on an IPD project. They will discuss the challenges and lessons learned for all players in the process, and share the success stories they are already seeing. They will also discuss how you can start implementing Lean in how you work regardless of project delivery type to improve success factors for yourself and your clients.
