manner “advance” the design.”

- “A welcoming, sensitive design that is a respectful addition.”
- “An inviting home is created from the original house.”
- “To achieve a higher award, the jury wished for more attention to the final
exterior colors, lighting, and site landscaping. As some of the photos
show the construction work still in progress, the completed project may
eventually reinforce the initial strength of the design plans and
elevations.”

- “The success of the intervention is a clear improvement to the streetscape.”
- “Noteworthy as many components were clearly questioned and Not-off-the-
shelf purchases, such as signage, benches and parking stalls.”
- “To clearly understand how the change has actually impacted the city could
not easily be determined. No people using the colorful spaces were seen
in any of the photographs. The jury desired to see the activity created by
this content in order to give a higher award.”
